    Inclement Weather Procedure

When the possibility of inclement weather occurs, our district emergency response team actively monitors weather, temperatures, and road conditions as the situation continues to develop. We work closely with local emergency management personnel to determine the impact of inclement weather within the school district.

Once the decision to close or delay the start of school is made, Lake Worth ISD notifies staff and families as soon as possible. If no announcements of campus closures or delays are made, it should be assumed the district will operate as normal.

If your child will not be attending school, please call our Attendance Hotline at 817-306-4202 and leave a message. Also, we ask that all families verify their contact information so that we may notify you of any inclement weather updates. This can be done in Skyward Family Access.

If you have any questions concerning our inclement weather procedures, please contact your child’s campus.

  • As a parent or guardian of a Lake Worth Independent School District student, you have the fundamental right to make decisions regarding the upbringing and development of your child. Our goal as a school district is to be a supportive partner in that effort, providing effective academic instruction to maximize student learning. In service of that goal, we also work to support the general well-being of our students so they can remain academically focused.

School personnel are always expected to encourage your child to discuss any issues related to their well-being with you. School personnel can also facilitate a conversation between you and your child about any issues related to their well-being. Furthermore, employees are expected to keep parents informed related to observations of their child’s mental, emotional, or physical health. You have the right to access your child’s education and health records at any time.

As you might expect, teachers and other employees will periodically inquire about a child’s well-being, (e.g., asking how a student is feeling). In some cases, though, more formalized efforts may be appropriate, and if that is the case, our intent is to work in ways that are consistent with your goals as the parent. If school personnel determine that a student needs some additional structured observation—called monitoring—we will notify you.

Our school offers a variety of health-related and health-care services to each student. This notice is meant to inform you of all available health-related and health-care services we offer for all students, not necessarily to indicate any of these services will be provided to your child.

To see the list of health-related and health-care services offered by staff of Lake Worth ISD campuses and to opt-in or  opt-out of specific services, please click the link below and submit the form. You have the right to change your mind at any time by submitting the form again. If you have any questions, please contact your campus counselor or nurse.
