This fall, the Lake Worth Education Foundation continued its tradition of fostering educational excellence by awarding grants to dedicated teachers across the district. The foundation’s mission is to empower educators with the resources they need to bring innovative and impactful ideas into their classrooms, enriching the learning environment for students in exciting new ways.

Each year, the foundation invites teachers to submit proposals for programs that show great promise to improve the educational experience. The grants support projects that inspire creativity, enhance student engagement, and drive success in and beyond the classroom.

Teachers Share Their Excitement
The grant recipients were thrilled to share how the funding will make a difference for their students:

“It was an incredible honor to receive the Lake Worth Education Foundation grant,” shared Holli Grant, a science teacher at Lake Worth High School. “With this funding, we can provide our students with materials for our UIL Academic Program, including updated calculators, AP Style books, portable printers, and literary books for competitions. These tools will open doors for my students, giving them confidence and opportunities to succeed. I cannot thank the foundation enough for their dedication to our students, teachers, and community.”

Sharon Stewart, an art teacher at Lake Worth High School, expressed her gratitude: “The Art students participate in many competitions and shows throughout the year, and we’ve been wanting to get a mat cutter to present our students’ works professionally. This grant will allow us to showcase their amazing artwork in a way that reflects their talent. I’m beyond thrilled and grateful for this opportunity!”

For Pre-K teacher Alison Jacobson at Effie Morris Early Learning Academy, the grant means giving young learners a strong start: “Receiving this grant was a wonderful surprise! With the funding, I can purchase tools to help students improve executive functions and self-regulation skills. In Pre-K, we are teaching future leaders, and this support allows us to give them the best start possible. I am so thankful for the love and support from the foundation!”

A Commitment to Innovation
The Lake Worth Education Foundation continues to serve as a cornerstone of support for teachers and students across the district. By providing funding for innovative ideas, the foundation is not only enhancing classroom experiences but also ensuring that every student has access to tools and opportunities that pave the way for success.

Lake Worth ISD's Bullfrog Marching Band impressed judges and audiences alike with an outstanding performance at the UIL Region Marching Contest in Springtown this past weekend, where they earned a Superior Rating. This high honor qualifies the band to advance to the UIL Area Marching Contest, scheduled for November 2, 2024, in Denton.

The Superior Rating, awarded for excellence in musicality, precision, and creativity, reflects months of hard work and dedication from the band members and their dedicated director. Their competition show, In a Heartbeat, features a dynamic mix of music and choreography, showcasing the students' dedication to their craft and their commitment to teamwork.

Lake Worth ISD invites the community to show their support for the Bullfrog Band as they prepare to perform at the Area Marching Contest on November 2. This achievement highlights not only the talent within our district but also the power of community and teamwork.

Lake Worth High School students recently took part in Servolution Network's Fall Blitz, demonstrating their commitment to leadership and community service. For two days, students and staff members volunteered their time to assist with clean-up efforts at various homes in the community. 

Armed with tools and a spirit of giving, our students joined forces with Servolution Network to help homeowners with much-needed tasks, such as yard work and minor repairs. This experience allowed them to not only support their local community but also showcase the values of responsibility and leadership that Lake Worth ISD strives to instill in its students.

“We are proud of the way our students stepped up to help those in need,” said Dr. Seeton, Lake Worth ISD’s Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning. “Their involvement in this initiative highlights their dedication to making a difference, both on campus and beyond.”

Participating in Servolution's Fall Blitz provided students with an excellent opportunity to grow as leaders, proving that the lessons learned in the classroom extend far into the community. By volunteering their time and energy, these students set a powerful example of what it means to give back. 

Lake Worth ISD is proud to see its students lead by example, and we look forward to more opportunities to partner with Servolution Network and engage with and uplift our community.

Lake Worth ISD is proud to celebrate two of its outstanding educators, Rebekah May and Holli Grant, who were recognized last week at the Educational Service Center Region 11 Teacher of the Year Banquet.

Rebekah May, a dedicated educator from Effie Morris Early Learning Academy, was honored as the Elementary Teacher of the Year for the district. Her commitment to nurturing young minds and fostering a love for learning has made her a beloved figure in the Lake Worth ISD community.

Holli Grant, who teaches at Lake Worth High School, was recognized as the Secondary Teacher of the Year for the district. In addition to this prestigious honor, Holli was named a finalist for the Secondary Teacher of the Year for Region 11, highlighting her exceptional dedication and impact on her students.

Both Rebekah May and Holli Grant are invaluable assets to Lake Worth ISD. Their tireless efforts, passion for education, and profound impact on students’ lives make them shining examples of the district’s commitment to excellence in education.
