As Lake Worth ISD prepares for the 2026–2027 school year, we are excited to introduce a talented group of assistant principals who will help lead our campuses with a shared commitment to student success, high-quality instruction, and strong relationships.

This year, we are proud to celebrate two internal promotions and welcome four outstanding educational leaders to the Bullfrog Family. Together, these leaders bring decades of experience in teaching, instructional leadership, campus administration, and student support, all with a passion for helping every student succeed.

Effie Morris STEAM Academy

Micah Robertshaw, Assistant Principal (Promotion)

Lake Worth ISD is proud to congratulate Micah Robertshaw on her promotion to Assistant Principal at Effie Morris STEAM Academy.

With 24 years of experience in education, Robertshaw has served as a classroom teacher, Gifted and Talented educator, testing coordinator, and instructional coach. Throughout her career, she has been committed to supporting students, families, and educators while helping schools build strong instructional systems and positive learning environments. Her experience working in Title I schools has strengthened her belief that meaningful relationships and high expectations create opportunities for every child to succeed. As Assistant Principal, she looks forward to partnering with staff and families to foster academic excellence, inspire innovation, and help every student recognize and reach their full potential.

Marine Creek Leadership Academy

Marisa Phillips, Assistant Principal

Lake Worth ISD proudly welcomes Marisa Phillips as the new Assistant Principal at Marine Creek Leadership Academy.

Phillips brings 16 years of educational experience, including 13 years as a classroom teacher and three years in campus administration. Throughout her career, she has focused on strengthening instruction, supporting teachers, and improving student achievement through collaborative leadership. Her work has included helping lead instructional initiatives that significantly improved student outcomes in math. As Assistant Principal, Phillips is committed to building strong relationships with students, staff, and families while helping create a safe, welcoming, and high-performing learning environment where every student can thrive.

Miller Language Academy

Dr. Dustin Dooly, Assistant Principal (Promotion)

Lake Worth ISD is excited to congratulate Dr. Dustin Dooly on her new role as Assistant Principal at Miller Language Academy.

Dr. Dooly brings more than 27 years of experience in education, serving students and educators in a variety of instructional and leadership roles. Throughout her career, she has remained dedicated to creating positive learning environments where students can thrive, and teachers are empowered to succeed. As she steps into this leadership role at Miller Language Academy, Dr. Dooly looks forward to supporting students, staff, and families while helping continue the campus's momentum of student growth.

Rossy Perez, Assistant Principal

Lake Worth ISD also welcomes Rossy Perez as the newest Assistant Principal at Miller Language Academy.

Perez brings more than 10 years of experience in education, having served as a bilingual teacher, curriculum specialist, and assistant principal. She is passionate about ensuring every student has access to high-quality instruction and a learning environment where they feel supported, challenged, and valued. Guided by a belief that every child deserves a voice and meaningful opportunities to succeed, Perez looks forward to partnering with students, staff, and families to strengthen Miller Language Academy's culture of excellence and provide meaningful learning experiences for every student.

Lucyle Collins Middle School

Bryar Ferguson, Assistant Principal

Lake Worth ISD is excited to welcome Bryar Ferguson as Assistant Principal at Lucyle Collins Middle School.

Ferguson brings five years of educational experience, serving as an English teacher, college and career counselor, and coach. His background in both academics and athletics has allowed him to build strong relationships with students while preparing them for success beyond the classroom. A Fort Worth native and two-time graduate of Texas Christian University, Ferguson is passionate about supporting student achievement, building a positive campus culture, and partnering with families and staff to help every student succeed.

Together with Assistant Principal Mrs. Faulkner, they will help foster a culture of high expectations, collaboration, and student achievement across their campus.

Lake Worth High School

Asia Washington, Assistant Principal

Lake Worth ISD proudly welcomes Asia Washington as the new Assistant Principal at Lake Worth High School.

Washington brings more than 30 years of experience in education, having served as a teacher, instructional specialist, assistant principal, and principal at both the middle and high school levels. She also served as the principal of an alternative education campus, where she developed a strong passion for supporting at-risk students and creating equitable opportunities for success. In addition to her administrative experience, Washington spent more than two decades coaching athletics, experiences that shaped her servant leadership philosophy centered on teamwork, accountability, and the development of others. She looks forward to partnering with students, families, and staff to build a culture of excellence where every student feels supported, challenged, and empowered to achieve their goals.

We are excited for her to partner with Dr. Dearman and Mrs. Martin, as they work together to strengthen instruction, support students and staff, and continue building positive campus cultures.

Cynthia Flores

Principal, Effie Morris STEAM Academy

With 20 years in education, Cynthia Flores brings extensive experience serving students as a kindergarten, second-grade, and third-grade teacher, instructional coach, and assistant principal. Throughout her career, she has remained committed to helping students recognize their strengths while creating supportive environments where both students and teachers can thrive.

Her appointment is especially meaningful because Lake Worth ISD is home. As a proud Lake Worth graduate and former student of Effie Morris STEAM Academy, Cynthia returns full circle to serve the campus and community that helped shape her own educational journey.

She believes leadership begins with relationships and is committed to empowering staff while ensuring every student feels supported, valued, and capable of success.

Pharah Hogan

Principal, Marine Creek Leadership Academy

Pharah Hogan joins Lake Worth ISD with more than 20 years of educational experience spanning roles as a teacher, instructional coach, assistant principal, head principal, principal coach, and educational leader.

Most recently serving as Director of Educator Preparation Programs at Texas Woman’s University, she has focused on developing future educators and strengthening pathways into the teaching profession.

Her leadership philosophy centers on servant leadership, trust, compassion, and high-quality instruction. Throughout her career, she has partnered with schools and districts across Texas to strengthen instructional leadership, support educator growth, and improve student outcomes.

Her passion for building strong campus cultures and investing in both students and educators makes her an exciting addition to the Bullfrog Family.

Dr. Francis Anderson

Principal, Miller Language Academy

Dr. Francis Anderson brings a diverse and inspiring background in service and educational leadership to Lake Worth ISD.

Throughout her career, she has served as a teacher, bilingual coordinator, assistant principal, and principal, dedicating herself to supporting diverse student populations and creating positive school cultures focused on student growth and opportunity.

Before entering education, Dr. Anderson served both in the military and with the Fort Worth Police Department—experiences that shaped her leadership approach and commitment to service.

Fluent in English and Spanish, Dr. Anderson is passionate about strengthening family partnerships, supporting students, and creating opportunities that empower children and communities.

Jarred Taylor

Principal, Lucyle Collins Middle School

Jarred Taylor joins Lake Worth ISD with a strong background in educational leadership and service across multiple school systems, including Palm Beach County Schools, Alief ISD, and Houston ISD.

Beginning his career as a classroom teacher, he has served in several leadership roles, including Grade Chair, Science Coach, Middle Course Recovery Coordinator, and Assistant Principal.

His experience leading instructional improvement efforts, Professional Learning Communities, intervention systems, and student-centered initiatives reflects his commitment to creating environments where all students can succeed academically and socially.

As principal of Collins Middle School, Mr. Taylor is committed to leading with integrity, consistency, visibility, and strong partnerships with students, staff, and families.

Dr. Amadeo Villanueva

Principal, Lake Worth High School

Dr. Amadeo Villanueva joins Lake Worth High School with a strong background in educational and military leadership centered on student success and continuous improvement.

Throughout his career serving in Houston ISD and San Marcos CISD, he has held roles including Assistant Principal, GEAR UP Coordinator, AVID Teacher, and Special Education Teacher. His leadership has focused on improving student achievement, empowering teachers, and creating systems that support long-term student success.

Before entering education, Dr. Villanueva served in the United States Army, experiences that continue to shape his leadership through discipline, resilience, and service.

As Principal of Lake Worth High School, Dr. Villanueva is committed to building strong relationships, supporting college and career readiness, strengthening campus culture, and ensuring every student is empowered to achieve their goals.

Today, the Texas Education Agency (TEA) appointed a new superintendent and Board of Managers as part of the state intervention of Lake Worth ISD.

Dr. Ena Meyers will serve as the new superintendent of Lake Worth ISD. Superintendent Meyers began working today under a 21-day interim contract, pending formal approval from the appointed Board of Managers.

Dr. Meyers is a lifelong public educator with more than two decades of experience supporting students, teachers and school communities across Texas. She has served as a classroom teacher, campus principal, and, most recently, Deputy Chief of Strategic Initiatives at Houston ISD. Known for her work strengthening schools through high-quality instruction and strong support for educators, Dr. Meyers is deeply committed to improving student achievement and making intentional changes to help students reach their full potential.

“Lake Worth ISD students deserve a school system that prepares them for success in college, career or the military,” said Texas Education Commissioner Mike Morath. “The newly appointed Board of Managers and superintendent bring the experience and commitment necessary to improve academic outcomes, strengthen district systems and build a strong foundation for long- term success in Lake Worth ISD.”

Commissioner Morath also appointed the following individuals to the Lake Worth ISD Board of
Managers:

• Tom Harris: Tom Harris is a business and community leader who has spent much of his career supporting aviation, operations, and development initiatives in Tarrant County. He currently chairs the Fort Worth Mayor’s Council on Education and Workforce Development, helping prepare students for future careers. Harris and his wife co-founded the Jordan Elizabeth Harris Foundation, focused on suicide prevention and mental health awareness. He also serves on several non-profit boards supporting education and children’s initiatives.

 

• Dr. Amy Morgan: A longtime public school educator with more than 30 years of experience in the classroom, Amy Morgan has served as a teacher, district administrator and higher education instructor. Morgan has dedicated her career to supporting special populations and serving educational and community organizations throughout the greater Fort Worth area. Morgan holds degrees from Southwest Texas State University, the University of Houston - Clear Lake, and Nova Southeastern University.

 

• Dr. Kenneth (Ken) Nichols: Kenneth Nichols is a retired U.S. Navy officer and leadership professional with more than 30 years of military service. He holds two doctoral degrees and serves as an adjunct professor at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and Abraham Lincoln University. Deeply committed to service, Nichols volunteers and serves on boards supporting veterans, underserved communities, and workforce development initiatives. He also serves as a mentor with Big Brothers Big Sisters of America.

 

• Mason Sneed: A business and financial professional, Mason Sneed works on the investment team at a Fort Worth-based private equity firm. He has over a decade of experience spanning private equity, corporate restructuring and engineering. Sneed holds a Master of Business Administration from Rice University and a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University.

 

• Judy Starnes: Judy Starnes has called Lake Worth home for more than 45 years. She is also a parent and a retired Lake Worth ISD educator. During her 25-year teaching career, Starnes worked with students across a range of special populations and served as team leader and department head at her school. Over the years, she has led workshops for educators and remains actively involved in the Lake Worth community. Starnes received a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree from Texas Wesleyan University.

Together, the board and superintendent will work with the agency to improve outcomes for Lake Worth ISD students. We welcome Dr. Meyers to Lake Worth and we thank the members who will serve on our board.

At the April Lake Worth ISD Board of Trustees Meeting, the district proudly recognized two students for their exceptional accomplishments in Engineering and Science Fair competitions, highlighting the innovation, creativity, and academic excellence taking place across Lake Worth ISD.

Students Remas Louzon and Arielle Lopez were honored for their outstanding research projects and the prestigious awards they earned through regional and state-level competition.

Remas Louzon was recognized for the project titled Bioremediation Strategies for Reducing Water Pollution in Local Waterways, a research project focused on identifying solutions to improve environmental health and sustainability in local communities. Through this project, Remas earned the Naval Science Award at the Regional Science Fair and also received 1st Place at the University of North Texas Science Fair, an impressive accomplishment that reflects both strong scientific understanding and dedication to research.

Arielle Lopez was recognized for the project titled Advancing Access in the Arts, a project that explored ways to improve accessibility and opportunities within the arts. Arielle’s work earned qualification for the Texas State Science Fair, making her the first student in school history to achieve this distinction—an incredible milestone for both Arielle and Lake Worth ISD.

These students exemplify what it means to lead with innovation, determination, and excellence. Their success not only reflects their hard work, but also the support of the educators and programs that continue to foster student achievement across the district.

Lake Worth ISD is incredibly proud of Remas and Arielle for representing Bullfrog Nation with excellence and for proving that the future is bright for our students.

Lake Worth Independent School District is celebrating the generosity of Parker Products following a $3,000 donation to the district’s Bullfrog Angel Tree initiative, a program that supports students and families during the holiday season.

Parker Products has been a consistent supporter of the Bullfrog Angel Tree for several years, and this year’s contribution will help ensure students across the district experience joy, hope, and holiday cheer.

“These donations truly make a difference for our families,” said Noah Ceballos, District Communications Coordinator, who oversees the Bullfrog Angel Tree program. “The Bullfrog Angel Tree is about more than gifts—it’s about showing our students and families that their community cares. Parker Products’ continued commitment speaks volumes about their heart for Lake Worth ISD and the Bullfrog community.”

Funds from the donation, combined with contributions from community members and local partners, will help provide gifts and support for students identified through the program.

Superintendent Dr. Mark Ramirez expressed gratitude for the ongoing partnership and community involvement.

“We are incredibly thankful for the support of Parker Products and our entire Lake Worth community,” said Dr. Ramirez. “Initiatives like the Bullfrog Angel Tree reflect the strong relationships we share with our partners and the generosity that defines our district. Because of this support, we are able to care for our students beyond the classroom and remind them they are valued.”
