AVID's mission is...

"To close the achievement gap by preparing all students for college readiness and success in a global society."

AVID is a college and career readiness system designed to increase the number of students who enroll and persist in four-year colleges and universities. The AVID College and Career Readiness System (ACRS) incorporates three distinct components: AVID Elementary, AVID Secondary (AVID Elective), and AVID for Higher Education.
