Social Studies/ Athletics
My name is Jessica Olivares, and I am in my 5th year teaching U.S. History. I was born and raised in El Paso, Tx where I attended Franklin High School home of the cougars. While in high school I dabbled in different activities, and was also a 4 year Varsity soccer player. After high school I attended West Texas A&M in Canyon, Tx to continue my soccer career and major in History for Secondary Education. In 2009 our college team played in the elite eight of the national soccer tournament in San Diego, Californina.
Upon graduation I took my first job teaching and coaching job at Odessa High School for 3 years. While at Odessa High I was the Varsity assistant/ Jv volleyball coach as well as the varsity assistant/ jv soccer coach. I taught both World and U.S. History while in Odessa. On top of teaching I was on the district curriculum writing team, PLC team leader, and a member of the district textbook selection committee.
This is my second year at Lake Worth High School serving as the Social Studies Department chair while also the Head Cross Country Coach, Head Boys and Girls Soccer Coach, and the Girls Athletic Coordinator.
I happily live in Krum, Tx with my Fiance Josh and our 2 puppies Brady and Theodore. I love to travel whenever possible with my parents and sister, as well as spend time with my family who live close by.
