2026-2027 Reduction in Force Communication Hub
Lake Worth ISD Reduction in Force (RIF) Information
Lake Worth ISD is committed to providing high-quality educational programming that meets the evolving needs of our students. To align our resources with our current educational goals, the District is implementing specific program changes at Miller Language Academy for the 2026-2027 school year. Because these changes impact how instruction is delivered, they will also result in a reorganization of staffing, known as a Reduction in Force (RIF).
We understand that transitions like this create uncertainty. Lake Worth ISD is committed to providing clear, transparent answers regarding what these changes mean for our staff, students, and community.
Board Action & Program Change
On March 9, 2026, during a Special Called Board Meeting, the Lake Worth ISD Board of Trustees approved a Reduction in Force (RIF) due to a program change, as well as employment areas to be subject to Reduction in Force due to the program change.
Policy DFFB (LOCAL) defines a program change as the elimination, curtailment, or reorganization of a program, department, school operation, or curriculum offering, such as:
- A change in curriculum objectives
- A modification of the master schedule
- The restructuring of an instructional delivery method
- A modification or reorganization of staffing patterns in a department, on a particular campus, or district-wide
The approved Reduction in Force was approved to solely affect Miller Language Academy.
