I was born in a small town in upper New YorkState where I lived until I was 11 years old. My family moved to Kansas where I found out what a small town really was, our main road in Peru, Kansas was a dirt road that was a dead end on BOTH ends. In this small Kansas town is where I first became very active in FCCLA (FHA, back then) and 4-H.We lived there for a couple of years before moving to Denton, Texas. While at DentonHigh School (back then there was only one high school in Denton) I continued with FCCLA and started developing my leadership skills. After graduating from DHS I first went to UNT. Later I continued my education at TWU for both my BS and MA. I have also started my started my coursework leading to my PhD in Family Studies but I have put that on hold while following other paths for now.
I have been very fortunate to travel to many places including to a majority of the states within the country and Cananda, Egypt, Republic of Tunisia, Italy, Holland, Mexico, France, and Belgium to mention a few. Of course, I am always planning my next trip. It is due to the love of travel that lead me to live and teach in England. I was fortunate enough to teach at Uckfield Community Technology College and Seaford Head Community College. During the four years that I spent at these schools I gained a better understanding of education on a global setting.
I have come to know and love so many of our Lake Worth students that I might never leave! Of course, I look forward to meeting more students and their families.
