My name is Tonya Coleman and I am honored to be assistant principal of Effie Morris Elementary. I am originally from Saint Louis, Missouri. I have lived in Texas for one year.
I attended Fontbonne University where I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. I earned a master’s degree in Education Administration from Lindenwood University. Currently, I am working to finish my doctoral degree in Educational Leadership. I have served in many capacities in my educational career; teacher, college instructor, interim principal and assistant principal.
Outside of school, I stay very busy as a mother of three high school students. Caleb is a junior, Chasity is a sophomore and Christian Hope is a freshman. All of my children are active and involved in countless sports and activities.
I anticipate this will be a fantastic year! Together we can help each student reach their full potential.
