We will be covering a large variety of topics in math this year. The Saxon program that we use covers all the essential skills that we need for First Grade. It also continuously reviews those skills so as to help use reach mastery.

First Six Weeks:

  • Identifying the attributes of pattern blocks
  • Addition facts: Doubles to 18
  • Covering designs with pattern blocks
  • Adding 1 to a number
  • Writing subtraction number sentences
  • Counting backward from 10 to 1
  • Morning, afternoon, evening, and night
  • Measuring length and width using nonstandard units
  • Sorting items and creating a graph

  • Showing time to the hour on a clock
