David Forbus

Deputy Superintendent
Lake Worth ISD
Philosophy of Administration
I believe that the administration of a district is chiefly the administration of human beings. A Deputy Superintendent should effectively operate the district under the policies set forth by the School Board, while working with the Board to help bring about informed and effective changes in policy. I believe that if you always ask yourself, “Is it right for kids”, that you can’t go wrong. The Deputy Superintendent should be able to make informed, effective decisions taking into account the input from his staff; while reserving the right to make some final decisions. A Deputy Superintendent should be a highly visible instructional leader with strong human relationship skills, technical skills, and conceptual skills. By utilizing these skills a Deputy Superintendent will be able to provide a safe, secure and warm learning environment for everyone. A Deputy Superintendent should be able to remove any barriers from the student’s ability to learn, the teacher’s ability to teach, and the school leader’s ability to lead.
"Our task is to provide an education for the kinds of kids we have, not the kind we used to have......or want to have.....or the kind of kids that exists in our dreams"
