Self-Assessment and Exploring Careers

Students will do several self-check surveys on assessment.  We will research different careers.

Employment

Students will learn how to create a resume, letter of application, and a follow-up letter.  We will also discuss interview questions and the interview process.

Workplace Ethics

Students will learn about ethics in the workplace and how to follow them.

Workplace Health and Safety

We will take part in a CPR course and discuss workplace safety.  We will do an on-line mini course on safety in the workplace.

Workplace Legal Matters

We will discuss legal matters that can pop up in the workplace.

Teamwork and Leadership

We will discuss interpersonal relationships at work, professional communication skills, and thinking skills on the job.

Technology in the Workplace

We will research new technologies in the workplace.

Time Management

Students will learn how to manage their work time efficiently.

Basic Economics

Students will be able to identify our basic economic structure.

Life Skills

Students will learn the basics on managing their money, banking and credit, buying insurance, taxes, and social security.

Lifelong Learning

We will discuss adapting to change and balancing work and personal life.

Internet

We will do Internet searching on various topics relating to the workplace.
